Storytime and Crafts
Through interactive storytelling and fun craft projects, our staff will reinforce your preschooler’s pre-reading skills, including print awareness ad motivation, letter knowledge, narrative skills and vocabulary. All to guide your child on the path to early literacy.

First Step in Music
This course will enable the parent to learn, sing, and recall many songs and rhymes while the child will develop their first few musical moments. The wiggles, tickles, bounces, and lullabies in this class will nurture a sense of wonder and a love of singing and dancing in the life of your child.
Ages 0-3 – accompanied with adult.

ADULT COOKING CLASSES
ITALIAN CUISINE Escape to Italia for an evening at the Leahy-Holloran Community Center! Enjoy a two hour cooking lesson and learn how to prepare an authentic Italian dinner! Discover step-by-step how to make a satisfying meal from appetizers to dessert! Each class will feature a different three course Italian Meal! All supplies will be provided to participants.

ADULT SCRAPBOOKING
Everyone should enjoy their photos and memories! Come and discover just how fun and easy scrapbooking can be. We'll teach you everything you need to know about working with embellishments, inking, paper tearing and color blocking. There will be special weekly theme and page layout included in instruction.

YOUTH & FAMILY SCRAPBOOKING
This unique program is offered for children ages 7yrs and up and their parents. Participants will learn to create scrapbooks together, making fun memory books and unique crafts. Themes will be geared towards youth and teen interests. Parent participation is optional.

YOUTH THEATRE WORKSHOPS
CITI SPOTLIGHTS THEATRE GROUP
CitiSpotlights is an afterschool theatre initiative conducted in partnership with the Citi Performing Arts Center (Wang Center). Participants will be taught new performing arts skills and will be given an opportunity to showcase their talent in the final CitiSpotlights Showcase at the Wang Theatre.
This year’s theme is:
City Movement– The comings and goings of Boston Neighborhoods.
Participants will present a performance that honors their home neighborhood and will also tell the story of the City of Boston. The LHCC is the home of the Dorchester Ensemble, and all workshops this session will be at the LHCC on weekday afternoons.
Ages: 8—18
